Amazon Finance Manager, WW Operations FP&A Top-down Financial modeling in Bellevue, Washington

As part of the IPAT team, you will play a key role in working with on forecasting for WWOps Finance Senior leadership team. WW operations IPAT team works with regional operations teams to provide a comprehensive global view to the leadership.

The Top-down forecasting is brand new centralized and automated forecasting process for world-wide operations costs to be the front runners in building best-in-class forecasting processes leveraging state of the art technology and science based forecasting. The team is tasked with the challenge of building new forecast model logic, calculation, automation, creation of process mechanism along with analytic support for strategic decision making as we continue to grow in complexity and size.

As the Finance Manager in WW operations IPAT team, you will partner closely with operations, tech, and finance partners (regional FPA teams) to influence the strategic direction of the business, drive operational excellence, help define roadmaps, and provide guidance and reporting. You will have an opportunity to act as the key finance leader for a strategic program and get really involved with shaping our business. You’ll lead others and use insights to show senior stakeholders ways that we can move forward with our business ambitions. You will have a strong operational and finance acumen as we continue our mission to be the front runners in building best-in-class forecasting processes.. A successful candidate should be highly motivated to learn about operations and new areas of finance; is adept at identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and excited about solving complex problems that affect company-wide strategic decisions. The candidate must have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies while dealing with complex data.

Key job responsibilities

This role will focus on the development of top-down forecast models, running the model in accordance with planning cycles, and working with the product and technology S&A teams to develop automated web-based UI planning tool.

  • Build financial models to drive business decisions and make judgement calls on challenges using your understanding of Amazon’s operations cost structure

  • Work with regional teams to align on the models and ensure high controllership.

  • Develop mechanisms for driving regular forecasting processes to include process timelines, leadership reviews , auditing quality and resolving issues

  • Drive process simplification and automation charter working with tech teams

  • Own the financial and operational plan and financial reporting, create scalable processes and monitor teams for accuracy

  • Use a range of metrics and models to forecast, link KPIs to financials, and determine opportunities for improvement

  • Identify financial improvements, deep dive on cost structures, and analyze business opportunities and/ or investments with a keen eye on scaling for future growth and improving our employee experience.-

  • Lead ad hoc analysis and new project evaluations, including structuring the problem, performing analysis, and presenting to senior executives.

  • Lead and participate as a key finance stakeholder in cross-functional teams.

  • Support WWASF input requirement for P/L forecast.

This role will involve partnering with teams across the organization to drive progress towards truly automated planning, reporting, and analytics. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Power Query, Python)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
