Summary

Are you passionate about crafting compelling social media narratives that drive engagement and elevate brand awareness? Strategic Relations and Communications at Iowa State University is looking for a talented Social Media Strategist to spearhead our social media presence!

This position will d evelop and execute a strategic social media content plan to enhance university awareness, reputation, and brand on primary social media channels.

Example of Duties

• Develop and execute a strategic social media content plan to enhance university awareness, reputation, and brand on primary social media channels.

• Grow followers and foster positive engagement by delivering captivating content tailored to each platform's unique audience.

• Collaborate with colleagues to effectively communicate university initiatives, campaigns, and priorities.

• Stay abreast of social media trends, tools, and resources to ensure our strategies remain innovative and effective.

• Monitor and analyze metrics to measure engagement and inform future strategies for achieving social media goals.

• Provide guidance and central messaging to campus colleagues for their social media accounts, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to editorial guidelines.

• Work closely with web managers, photographers, videographers, designers, and marketing experts to create cohesive and impactful content.

• Assist in laying out e-newsletter content and ensure adherence to digital accessibility standards.

Level Guidelines• Applies senior-level professional knowledge and expertise to work requiring greater latitude• Solves moderately complex problems and regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action• Regularly exercises judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action on a broad set of issue and problems. • May lead projects for which well-defined practices and procedures may not exist.
